Freedom trailed St. Cloud 34-28 with two matches to go in the championship match of the 3A-9 district tournament in the FHSAA State Duals Series on Saturday and needing wins in both matches, the Patriots turned to two state-ranked wrestlers from the girls team - Kailey Rees and Shelby Weber.

With an all-girls match waiting in the final bout at 126 pounds for a favored Weber, Freedom coach David Bush told Rees to just focus on getting the win, but the top-ranked girls wrestler at 122 pounds had other ideas.

After dominating the first period of her match at 120 pounds with Nathaniel Huron, Rees turned her opponent in the second period to get the pin and tie the match at 34-34.
