Trinity Prep has been in a holding pattern while Javon Bennett was recovering from an ankle injury. Bennett returned in a big way, scoring 29 points to help the Saints rout Lake Brantley 79-54 in the Hoops with a Heart Classic at Oviedo High School.
Trinity Prep coach Irwin Hudson said he wanted to limit Bennett’s minutes since he was at 85% after missing four games with an ankle injury sustained in preseason. But Bennett hit five 3-pointers.
“Defense absolutely helps me, because it’s easy points, fast-break points when you get the steal,” Bennett said.
