New Orlando City keeper Brandon Austin is only 22, but he feels as if he’s been a professional for years.
Austin is a product of the Tottenham youth development system, competing against the top loan talent in England since he was 14.
With Tottenham, Austin learned to play out of the back in a structure similar to coach Oscar Pareja’s system with Orlando City. His athleticism and agility stood out immediately to Pareja, who wants defense to remain a primary focus for the Lions this season.
“We recognize from him, first the ability to play with the ball and as a great stopper,” Pareja said.
