Toronto FC solidified their goalkeeper position Friday by signing Quentin Westberg to a new contract.
“Q had a great first season with us and was integral in helping us win the Eastern Conference and advance to MLS Cup,” Toronto FC general manager Ali Curtis said in a club statement. “We’re very excited that we were able to reach agreement on a new contract.”
The 33-year-old came to Major League Soccer from French side AJ Auxerre in February 2019 and earned the starting job during the campaign.
Westberg played 2,505 minutes over 28 games after he beat out Alex Bono for the starting gig.
