The Tampa Bay Bucs selected Winston with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2015 NFL draft, the next big accomplishment for the former Florida State star.
“I’m very optimistic about this situation, and I’m very happy I got this chance,” Winston said exuberantly after he was drafted. “It’s been my dream, a long life dream to be a successful quarterback and teammate in the NFL.”
Winston, who became the first player in FSU history to be taken No. 1 overall, was arguably the most dynamic player in the draft. He was 26-1 in two years as a starter, winning the Heisman Trophy while guiding FSU to a national title in the 2013 season.
