Award-winning UCF women's soccer coach Tiffany Roberts Sahaydak, who was on born on this date in 1977, decided when she was a child she wanted to be an Olympian.
After playing multiple sports, she settled on soccer as her favorite and quickly proved she could hold her own on the pitch, scoring 90 goals and earning 51 assists at Carondelet High School in Concord, Calif. The three-time Parade All-American quickly rose through the American soccer system, becoming one of the youngest players to ever compete for the U.S. women’s national team at age 16.
Sahaydak realized her childhood dream by winning an Olympic gold medal in 1996 and was part of the iconic 1999 FIFA Women’s World Cup winning team.
