One injury led to another for Timber Creek girls volleyball standout Anna Herrington, who missed her entire junior season last year.
But the 6-foot middle blocker, who would have been a four-year varsity starter had she avoided back and knee injuries in 2020, is back in play for a talented squad that will be one of the home-town favorites this weekend in one of the nation’s most prestigious high school tournaments.
The Nike Tournament of Champions Southeast, set for Friday and Saturday in Orlando, has 63 teams from 10 different states — including 18 area squads. It is a spinoff from the original Nike TOC that has drawn teams from across the country to Phoenix, Arizona, for 14 years.
