Three Orlando City players acquired green cards in the offseason in order to open up international slots for the Lions — centerback Robin Jansson and midfielders Robinho and Sebas Méndez.
Orlando City fielded nine international players at the end of last season after receiving an additional roster slot in a trade with Columbus. The team waived three other players occupying international slots in the offseason. Midfielders Nani and Mauricio Pereyra and defender Ruan are the only remaining international players from the 2019 roster.
The offseason acquisition of a green card for those three returning Lions allowed Orlando City to bring in four new international players — defenders Antonio Carlos and Rodrigo Schlegel, goalkeeper Pedro Gallese and midfielder Júnior Urso.
