It was 25 years ago this week when the expansion Jacksonville Jaguars selected dominant USC offensive tackle Tony Boselli with the inaugural draft pick in franchise history.
Boselli, the No. 2 overall pick in the 1995 NFL draft, was absolutely ecstatic when then-Jaguars coach Tom Coughlin chose him as the cornerstone of the franchise and changed his life forever.
“Jacksonville is where I wanted to be,” remembers Boselli, a Hall of Fame finalist who still lives in the city and works as a color analyst for the Jaguars’ radio broadcasts. “It was the perfect fit. I fell in love with Jacksonville from the beginning and it’s been my home ever since.
