The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly: USWNT, a Penalty Kick, and Something Bad

Welcome back, Mane Landers! Assuming you’re reading this when it drops, it’s Thursday. I’m actually writing this on Tuesday night, because Hurricane Michael is bearing down on Tallahassee, and I’m not sure that I’ll have power on Wednesday to write the article. As such, if any of it feels not quite up to date, you’ll know why.

The USWNT steamrolled their way through the group stage of World Cup qualifying. First the Yanks decimated Mexico, 6-0. It was a very convincing win, though surprisingly not as convincing as the 5-0 win over Panama. That match should have be closer to 15-0 if not for the performance from 17-year-old goalkeeper Yenith Bailey.
