BLACKSBURG, VA. — It didn’t look good much of Saturday afternoon at Lane Stadium in Blacksburg, Virginia, but behind a defense that steadied itself as the game progressed and quarterback D’Eriq King’s late touchdown strike to Mark Pope, Miami pulled it off.
The Hurricanes improved to 7-1, 6-1 in the Atlantic Coast Conference, with three regular-season games remaining.
With how shorthanded Miami was on the offensive line and on the defensive front, the Hurricanes were on the verge of calling it off, which would’ve added UM-VT to the list of 15 college football games this weekend that were either canceled or postponed.
