MIAMI GARDENS — After entering the weekend on a three-game losing streak dating back to last season, the Miami Hurricanes got back into the win column with their 25-23 victory over Appalachian State in their home opener Saturday at Hard Rock Stadium.
Miami clinched the victory with an Andy Borregales game-winning, 43-yard field goal with over two minutes left in the game and timely defensive stops.
The victory was UM’s first win since its 48-0 win over last on Dec. 5, 2020, with losses to North Carolina and Oklahoma to end last season and a loss to Alabama last weekend to start the 2021 season.
