The Dolphins played one hell of a poker game, bluffing the entire NFL into thinking they were uncomfortable with drafting Tua Tagovailoa. Miami flirted with Detroit to move up to No. 3, supposedly pursuing an offensive tackle, and that talk kept the Giants from trading out of the No. 4 spot so they could get the offensive lineman they wanted. In the end the Dolphins got the young quarterback the franchise desperately needed at No. 5, and then followed up that selection by taking USC’s Austin Jackson, an athletic left tackle with the 18th pick. Trading down to pick up an extra fourth-round pick was a veteran move, as was selecting Auburn cornerback Noah Igbinoghene, a freakish athlete.
