Guard Kameron McGusty scored 27 points and center Nysier Brooks had a career-high 21 as UM, again with only six scholarship players available, topped Boston College, 80-76, on Senior Night at Watsco Center to snap a six-game losing streak.
McGusty and Brooks were two of eight seniors honored on Friday. They will all have an option to return for an extra season of NCAA eligibility because the 2020-21 season was played amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Hurricanes (8-16, 4-15) will either be the 13th or 14th seed in next week’s ACC Tournament, playing either the No. 12 or 11 seed in the first round on Tuesday in Greensboro, N.
