‘The boys 100-meter dash at Friday’s 4A District 3 track and field meet at Flagler Palm Coast was as good as advertised, with five runners clocking times of 10.72 seconds or better.
Lake Brantley senior Chadrick Richards won the highly-anticipated race in a 10.54 time that appears to be the fastest certified as wind-legal in Florida this year. DeLand junior Kevar Williams was right behind at 10.57, followed by Seminole’s duo of sophomore Amari Turner (10.70) and senior Jimmy Horn Jr. (10.71) and Lake Brantley sophomore Andrew Harris (10.72).
Only four advance to the May 1 region meet at FPC, which means Harris won’t qualify despite a time that could rank among the top 10 in 4A.
