NEW YORK — Sky Blue FC announced Wednesday that defender Domi Richardson signed a new one-year deal with a one-year option, making her the ninth player to recommit to the club this offseason.
Richardson joined Sky Blue in 2016 after brief stints with Houston Dash and FC Kansas City, and she became a fixture in the starting lineup in 2018, when she played 16 matches.
The defender looked poised to receive similar minutes in 2019, but missed most of the season with an ankle injury. She did recover in time to receive playing time under new head coach Freya Coombe in her five-match spell as the interim coach at the end of 2019, closing the season with a 44-minute stint at the North Carolina Courage.
