NEW YORK — Sky Blue FC signed the team’s top picks at this year’s National Women’s Soccer League College Draft, Evelyne Viens and Kaleigh Riehl, the club announced Wednesday.
Viens, a forward, and Riehl, a defender, were two of several highly rated players in this year’s draft class, and were expectedly picked early. Both should contribute fairly quickly once the 2020 NWSL season gets started. Viens, the No. 5 overall pick, enjoyed a high-scoring collegiate career at the University of Florida, while Riehl, selected No. 11 overall, coupled her time at Penn State with games at various youth levels for the United States women’s national team.
