NEW YORK — Sky Blue FC forward Jen Hoy announced her retirement Friday after a seven-year career.
She played in all seven National Women’s Soccer League seasons and also spent time in Australia’s W-League. Hoy, 29, was part of the NWSL’s first College Draft in 2013 and was a fourth-round draft pick for the Chicago Red Stars.
She developed into a reliable forward for the team, making 78 appearances and scoring 15 goals during her four-year stint. While with the Red Stars, Hoy twice spent the offseason with Australian side Newcastle Jets, with whom she scored five goals in 12 matches.
