Central Florida teams meet in an FHSAA football state championship game for the first time Saturday afternoon when Sanford Seminole and Kissimmee Osceola face off for the Class 8A title at Doak Campbell Stadium in Tallahassee.
Each school is chasing its second state championship. Osceola defeated Estero for the 5A title in 1998. Seminole prevailed 28-21 over Miami Northwestern in the large-class final in 2008.
Kickoff for Saturday’s game is 1 p.m. Admission is $15 in advance and $18 on day of game exclusively at FHSAA.com. Spectrum Sports is streaming all state championships online for a fee.
