The Seminoles (10-0) climbed one spot to No. 1 in the Sentinel Super 16 rankings this week after claiming their first region championship since 2016 by winning 42-28 against St. Johns Bartram Trail.
Seminole plays at area No. 6 Apopka (8-3) in a Class 8A state semifinal on Friday. It is the third postseason game away from home for the ‘Noles, who won at DeLand and Jacksonville Sandalwood in previous weeks under the FHSAA’s “blind draw” playoff format.
The FHSAA allowed every member school to take part in the playoffs this fall due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
