Sanford Seminole (12-0) became the first undefeated state championship football team in Orlando area history by rolling to a 38-10 victory over Kissimmee Osceola in Saturday afternoon’s Class 8A final in Tallahassee.
The ‘Noles forced five turnovers and racked up four sacks to stifle the Kowboys (9-3) in the first football state final played between Central Florida teams. The Florida High School Athletic Association began state playoffs in 1963.
Seminole, under the direction of first-time head coach Eric Lodge, won its second state championship 10 years after claiming its first. The ‘Noles won a 2008 stated final vs.
