VANCOUVER – The outlook was grim for an Orlando City team making a coast-to-coast flight with a cobbled-together lineup.
But the Lions (4-5-10, 22 points) managed to play the Vancouver Whitecaps (8-8-5, 29 points) evenly for a 2-2 draw Saturday night at BC Place.
Orlando City snapped a three-game losing streak, but extended its road winless streak to eight games.
Lions interim coach Bobby Murphy was again forced to be creative with his lineup, with many players missing Orlando City’s game at Vancouver Saturday night.
He kept the club’s typical 4-2-3-1 formation, but fielded Kevin Molino, Júlio Baptista and Hadji Barry in the attacking midfield behind Canadian forward Cyle Larin, creating a threatening attack.
