HOOVER, ALA. — Football powerhouses Oklahoma and Texas reportedly have inquired about joining forces with the SEC to expand the league to 16 teams, including many of the nation’s top programs in the most high-profile sport.
Meanwhile, SEC Media Days carried on in Hoover, Alabama, where commissioner Greg Sankey declined to comment on the likelihood of the conference adding Oklahoma and Texas.
“I bet they would,” Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher said when asked about the reports.
