Real Salt Lake added to its stable of homegrown players Monday by signing forward Chris Garcia to a homegrown deal.
Garcia is the 21st homegrown player to come through the RSL ranks and earn a deal with the Claret and Cobalt.
“Chris is a gifted young player in our Academy who has shown an ability to score goals at the youth level,” RSL general manager Elliot Fall said in a club statement. “Signing a professional contract provides a new challenge for him and we are excited for his development.”
The 17-year-old forward has been a part of the RSL academy since 2018 and he is the 11th product of the club’s system to join the first-team roster ahead of the 2020 Major League Soccer season.
