Real Salt Lake hired Freddy Juarez as head coach and Elliot Fall as general manager for the 2020 season, the club announced Tuesday.
Juarez had been RSL’s interim head coach since August 11, earning a 5-4-1 record in the team’s last 10 games after Mike Petke was fired for verbally abusing officials following a Leagues Cup match. The 41 year-old led the team to a third place finish in the Western Conference in the regular season. In the 2019 MLS Playoffs, Juarez helped the team reach the Western Conference semifinals.
“When you look at Freddy and the progression that he has taken, he has the natural heart to develop.
