ST. PETERSBURG — The 422-foot grand slam Brandon Lowe crushed in the second inning Monday off Cleveland lefty Logan Allen got lost in the dramatics of the Rays losing the early lead before winning late.
But not to Lowe’s bosses, who saw it as another hopeful sign he is getting out of the funk that has ailed him for months and more promise of the damage they expect the power-hitting lefty to still do this season.
“We talked (over the weekend), we felt Brandon was kind of trending in the right direction,” manager Kevin Cash said. “And he’s continuing to show that.
