Orlando Christian Prep and Windermere Prep have traded Sunshine State Athletic Conference memberships away in exchange for the pursuit of FHSAA state tournament play this year.
“It’s a new opportunity and a new journey for us,” OCP head coach Guerschom Demosthenes said of returning to the Florida High School Athletic Association’s playoff system. “When I took over the program eight years ago we wanted a slow growth, and we felt like this was the year to make that transition. We’re excited and looking forward to it.”
Both the Warriors and Windermere Prep had opted out of FHSAA state series contention while participating within the SSAC for the past eight years.
