Seasons for the NWSL and MLS have concluded, but there’s still one more big trophy to hand out in North American soccer.
On Sunday, Louisville City FC will host Real Monarchs SLC in the United Soccer League Championship Final.
The Monarchs — an affiliate of Real Salt Lake of MLS — will attempt to stop Louisville City from winning its third straight championship, which would be the most in the league’s history. Louisville, coached by John Hackworth, finished fourth in the Eastern Conference table this season, but bulldozed its way into another final.
Real Monarchs are no strangers to being underdogs though.
