The five Major League Soccer teams entered into the 2020 Concacaf Champions League learned their pool of potential first-round opponents Wednesday.
The December 9 draw in Mexico City will determine the first-round matchups.
MLS Cup winner Seattle Sounders, Supporters’ Shield winner LAFC, U.S. Open Cup champion Atlanta United, Canadian Championship winner Montreal Impact and Eastern Conference first-place side New York City FC are in Pot 1, alongside Mexican sides Tigres, Club America and Cruz Azul.
Pot 2 is made up of Liga MX’s Club Leon, Costa Rica’s AD San Carlos and Deportivo Saprissa, Honduran sides Motagua and Olimpia, El Salvador’s Alianza, Guatemalan club Comunicaciones and Portmore United out of Jamaica.
