“Your daughter needs help,” read the message, which came from an unknown number. She knew 16-year-old Avery was out with friends. She was frantic.
It’s been a long journey since that night, but Avery Barnes sits in an Orlando Regional Medical Center room, recovering from injuries suffered during a hit-and-run crash.
UCF offensive lineman Parker Boudreaux, whose younger sister Maddy is Avery’s best friend and also was injured in the accident, jumped at the opportunity to help. He heard about Avery Barnes’ painful recovery and rallied his UCF teammates to help produce a video cheering on the former Bishop Moore cheerleader and current Knights fan.
