Oviedo’s streak of six consecutive girls soccer district championships came to an end last week at Winter Park when the Lions suffered their lone loss of the season on penalty kicks.

The Lions (14-1-1) edged host Lake Brantley (10-8-0) by a 2-0 score Tuesday while Winter Park (16-5-1) lost 1-0 vs. visiting Boone (11-2-0). The Braves previously defeated Winter Park by that same score on Dec. 10.
Boone and Oviedo square off Thursday in a Region 1 semifinal at 7 p.
