Sports stars with ties to Orlando visited victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting Monday afternoon at Orlando Regional Medical Center.
Among those who went to meet, comfort and show support to the injured were Orlando City team captain Kaká; former Orlando Magic player Shaquille O’Neal; and former Red Sox and Yankees baseball player Johnny Damon, who went to Dr. Phillips High.
Gov. Rick Scott and his wife, Ann Scott, also accompanied the athletes and presented an“Orlando Strong – Governor’s Medal of Unity” to the survivors, their families and hospital workers, according to a statement released by the governor's office.
