The Orlando Pride will look to add new additions to a core group of young talent in the 2021 NWSL draft Wednesday night, scoping a process that has seen major upheaval in the last week.
The Pride hold four draft picks in each of the first four rounds — No. 9, 14, 18 and 24 overall. The team also held the 34th overall pick, but it will transfer to Chicago as a conditional piece of a trade earlier this year.
Although coach Marc Skinner is focused on using the draft more efficiently, he’s setting lower expectations for this draft than last year’s process.
