The Orlando Pride could be bolstered by the return of two key players this weekend as centerback Phoebe McClernon and midfielder Marisa Viggiano near a return to the pitch.
McClernon and Viggiano both suffered injuries during the Pride’s last three-game week in June. Both players wore walking boots for at least a week — Viggiano for a foot injury, McClernon for an ankle injury.
Coach Marc Skinner said Viggiano was able to return to running on 100% of her body weight last week. The pair resumed training at full speed with the team on Monday, and both players will travel to Portland with the Pride this weekend.
