The Orlando Pride struck first but couldn’t find a second and conceded a second-half goal to settle for a 1-1 draw against the Seattle Reign on Saturday at Orlando City Stadium. The Pride had an opportunity to jump into second place in the NWSL but could only add a single point in the league playoff race.
Toni Pressley was in the right spot at the right time to put Orlando on the board first, but Jodie Taylor knotted things up with 20 minutes to play.
Tom Sermanni wasn’t appreciative of the 17-3 discrepancy in fouls called, as the whistles were fast and furious against Orlando, but the team also wasn’t creating enough scoring opportunities throughout the match to fully seize control.
