The Orlando Pride lamented missed opportunities during a frustrating 1-0 at Boston Sunday.
The Pride (6-9-0, 18 points) gave up an early goal on a rare turnover by one of their top performers.
After playing strong defense and attacking steadily, the officials opted not to call for a penalty kick when Pride forward Jasmyne Spencer was clearly dragged to the turf in the box.
"It was a tough game," Pride coach Tom Sermanni said. "We knew it was going to be a real battle and it was a real battle."
In the 10th minute, recent Breakers signee Natasha Dowie intercepted a pass following a rare mistake by versatile Orlando playmaker Kristen Edmonds.
