Alex Morgan stood in the center of the field, intently watching her Orlando Pride teammates during training Monday, but not joining in on drills.
Morgan was pulled from the Pride’s preseason game against the Gators last week after scoring her second goal and aggravating an existing deep bruise to her hip. She has not practiced since to recover in time to join the U.S. women’s national team this week for training camp in Orlando ahead of two friendlies against Colombia in April.
“It’s nothing serious,” Pride coach Tom Sermanni said. “She’s had this little hip pointer issue probably since the start of the year, and it flares up every now and then.
