Orlando Pride signs defender Carrie Lawrence for 2021 season

The Orlando Pride signed defender Carrie Lawrence to a one-year contract, earning the Orlando native an official place on the roster after nearly two years with the team.

Lawrence first joined the Pride as a practice player in 2019, then signed a 2020 contract only to be waived and ultimately re-signed as a short-term player.

After the trade of defender Emily Sonnett, her addition will be an important step in Pride coach Marc Skinner’s plan to bulk up the backline with proficient players who don’t get called up to national teams.

“We’re really pleased to sign Carrie back to the Pride,” Skinner said.
