The Orlando Pride re-signed midfielder Marisa Viggiano to a two-year contract with a one-year option, returning a vital member for the future of the team’s midfield.
The Pride selected the 23-year-old with the No. 30 overall pick in the 2019 NWSL draft. Despite falling to a lower round, Viggiano quickly became a stabilizing factor for the Pride midfield during teammates’ national team call-ups. She started 19 matches and scored one goal as a rookie, then went on to lead the team in scoring during the NWSL Fall Series with two goals.
Viggiano’s her passing presence has helped boost the creativity of teammates, including Marta and Sydney Leroux.
