The Orlando Pride signed rookies Chelsee Washington and Brittany Wilson to contracts through the 2021 season as the team prepares for the NWSL Fall Series.
Both players had previously signed short-term contracts ahead of the NWSL Challenge Cup, but they were unable to play when the club withdrew from the tournament due to COVID-19 test results. Their contracts will run through the 2021 season with an option to extend for an additional year.
The Pride selected Washington with the No. 30 overall pick in the 2020 NWSL draft out of Bowling Green State University. She will join a midfield unit that has been winnowed down by loans, with six midfielders heading abroad for the 2020 season.
