SANFORD, Fla. (March 3, 2021) — Orlando Pride welcomed its first opponent of the 2021 preseason on Wednesday afternoon, facing new National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) side Kansas City at the Orlando Pride Training Ground at Sylvan Lake Park. The Pride controlled the tempo for much of the match, with a number of opportunities, but could not break through and fell 1-0.
Early into the match, third-year player Marisa Viggiano looked to find Sydney Leroux in the box, but her header sailed high. Later, in the second half, Leroux had another opportunity after being slipped in by Alex Morgan but the KC goalkeeper came up with a big stop at point blank range.
