Orlando Pride midfielder Kristen Edmonds will take the next step in her coaching career during the NWSL offseason as the new Lake Highland Prep girls varsity soccer coach.
Edmonds served as an assistant coach on the Lake Highland staff the past two seasons, working with Pride goalkeeper coach Lloyd Yaxley, who was the program’s head coach.
When Yaxley was called away to coach the U.S. U-16 girls team last season, Edmonds stepped in to lead the team during the postseason. The pair steered the Highlanders to the state semifinals last year, finishing the season 13-6.
“It’s great to come into this position with a head start,” Edmonds said in a news release.
