Familiar defensive woes continued to haunt the Orlando Pride during their first home match in front of fans at Exploria Stadium in more than a year.
The Pride ceded a late-game goal to drop 1-0 against Gotham FC — newly rebranded from Sky Blue FC — after dominating the game offensively for most of the night.
The game-winner came in the 79th minute when Gotham split out into a rare transition breakaway led by Ifeoma Onumonu. Defender Ali Krieger lost Paige Monaghan on the backside, allowing her to burst toward the back post and knock in a cross from Onumonu.
