The depleted Orlando Pride couldn’t extend their win streak Saturday night.
Orlando (4-3-0, 12 points) suffered a 2-0 loss at FC Kansas City (1-4-2, five points) in front of an announced crowd of 3,104 fans. The Blues, the two-time defending National Women’s Soccer League champions battling a dose of their own adversity this year, scored their first victory of the season.
The Pride, who entered the game on a three-game win streak, remain tied for third in the NWSL standings.
Orlando coach Tom Sermanni and his players said they had great confidence in their roster depth, but it was still a challenge for the team to offset the absence of six players on the roster.
