The Orlando Pride are looking to ride a streak of success sparked by new coach Becky Burleigh as they host the Houston Dash on Sunday.
Although they have won just one of their last six regular-season matches, the Dash are more dangerous than their 6-7-3 record suggests.
The Houston offense has returned to full strength with attacking threats Sophie Schmidt, Rachel Daly and Nichelle Prince back from the Tokyo Olympics. After adding American centerback Abby Dahlkemper last week to fortify the backline, the team is positioned to make a late-season surge for playoff contention.
“When you look at Houston on paper, they’re an absolutely loaded team,” Burleigh said.
