The Amway Center is about to host its first COVID vaccination event — an effort by the Orlando Magic, AdventHealth and the city of Orlando to inoculate 2,300 Central Floridians against the virus that forced the NBA to play the remainder of its 2020 season in a restricted “bubble” at Disney.
The event is slated for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 13 and will offer the Moderna vaccine to anyone age 18 and older, but appointments are required. Sign-up is available at AdventHealth.com/OrlandoMagicVaccine.
“It is through teamwork and a shared commitment to the health and well-being of our residents that we will be able to manage this virus and hopefully bring some normalcy back to our community in the very near future,” said Magic CEO Alex Martins.
