Orlando Magic CEO Alex Martins: Without injuries, team is talented and headed in right direction | Commentary

Normally, when a fading NBA team has lost eight in a row and has the fourth-worst record in the league, there is endless speculation about firing the coach or the GM and starting all over again.

In a conversation a few days ago with Magic CEO Alex Martins, he told me he believes the Magic are still on the right path; unfortunately it’s a path littered with torn ACLs, broken bones, strained ligaments and other season-ravaging injuries. It’s no secret the Magic are the most-injured team in the league this year and have played much of the season without four of their five projected starters (Jonathan Isaac, Markelle Fultz, Aaron Gordon and Evan Fournier).
