The MLS Disciplinary Committee on Wednesday announced fines for two Orlando City players after incidents that happened during the Lions’ 2-1 loss to Atlanta United.
Right back Will Johnson received an undisclosed fine for simulation/embellishment. Johnson hit the pitch in stoppage time with no whistle. He got up, immediately protested and was carded for dissent. Fans weren’t pleased with the no-call and started throwing debris onto the pitch.
Emotions ran high throughout most of the match and in the 82nd minute, things boiled over for the players, which resulted in a short scuffle between the two clubs.
