The MLS Disciplinary Committee suspended Orlando City midfielder Matías Pérez García for one game due to violent conduct in the Lions’ 1-0 victory over the New York Red Bulls on Sunday.
Pérez García, also known as MPG, was issued an undisclosed fine as well, the league announced Tuesday.
The play cited for the retroactive suspension came in the 42nd minute. Pérez García fell to the ground after a collision with New York’s Felipe. MPG then kicked his right cleat into Felipe’s upper thigh area as the midfielder tried to get up.
