The Lions signed the striker nearly eight months ago. But in that time, Aiás has seen the pitch for only a handful of minutes — four late-game substitutions tallying less than an hour of playing time in total.
“The first thing that fans are going to see from me, that is that it all comes from hard work,” Aiás said. “They’re going to see that all of that I’m going to bring for myself and my team comes from hard work first and foremost.”
Aiás likes to score goals. That might seem like a given for a young striker, but it’s the first thing executive vice president of soccer operations Luiz Muzzi noticed when the Lions began to scout the striker several years ago — a keen desire to pull up and rocket off a shot from nearly any place on the pitch.
